Ten years ago, Dawn Wenner laid eyes on her first embroidery machine.  She decided this piece of equipment, along with her love for computers, was going to be her way back home.  She had an 18 month old child that she had waited her whole life for but she was never home to enjoy him.  Now, Dawn and her husband, Larry, run an Internet designs and home embroidery supply store featuring Swarovski Crystal Elements® from their home in Wilmington, NC.  Except for the time she travels to retreats and conventions teaching and introducing new products, Dawn is home seeing her son Casey off to school and greeting him when he gets home.

Dawn has 24 years of experience educating technical and management skills to students who are thirsty for knowledge.  Using this experience, she now teaches others how to embellish and incorporate Swarovski crystals, Angelina and a variety of other items like embroidery, quilts and anything that stays still long enough to be embellished.

Everything That Glitters
Of course a class from me has to be about crystals. We will practice several different ways of applying Swarovski Crystals and Hot Fix Metals. You will create a very easy to construct Neck Bag that has been very popular and then add crystals to make it your own. We will also create a project using a few other crystals products and even some New! Hot Fix Metals.

7 years ago I was thoroughly enjoying my hobby of machine embroidery, but was frustrated that I couldn’t find cute and adorable things to personalize.  I came from a merchant/buying background so I was familiar with retail.  I thought that if I was looking for this type of merchandise, maybe other people were too!  So I bought some inventory, set up a booth at a small embroidery conference, and hoped that other people enjoyed embroidering on pretty things as much as I did!  Turns out there are a lot of you out there that share my same passion!!!  I now get to enjoy a job that I truly love!  Finding new, exciting products for all of us to embroider on is what makes my day exciting!  Now, if only I could discover a 48 hour day instead of 24

Ah-Choo!  Hankies Galore!

Allene Snow has worked as a seamstress for over 35 years including costume design for Galveston Mardi Gras and Texas Renaissance Festival.  She bought her first Embroidery Machine in 1995 along with the scanning device and developed a passion for machine embroidery and digitizing.  When PEDesign became available the love of digitizing took off like a rocket and has grown with each update.  She started her web-based business Snow Lady Designs in 2000 and quickly became known for her freestanding lace designs with the look of hand crochet.   She has been teaching at various embroidery conferences and local shops sharing with others this wonderful hobby since 2002 using visual lecture demos and hands on classroom interaction.
Don't Be Afraid!
Don't be afraid to mix mediums! Don't be afraid of free standing lace! But be very afraid of missing the exciting project! We will be doing a little learning to digitize free standing lace...a little embroidery...a little playing with some water color...a little stitching free standing lace...and a little sewing...to produce a fun project you will be proud to display in your home.
